Description

Radiation training and/or a refresher course is required for all employees and researchers who will be working with Radioactive Materials (RAM) and/or Radiation Producing Machines (RPM).

Radioactive Materials (RAM) Users
All users of unsealed Radioactive Materials must attend a RAM User Training class within 30 days of being added to a Radiation Use Authorization (RUA). The RAM User Training Handout should be downloaded and read before attending the class.
To enroll in this class, go to the Interactive Course Enrollment (ICE) website and search for course title: Radioactive Material User Training.

Radiation Producing Machines (RPM)
All users of radiation producing machines must read the training materials (PDF) and submit a signed certificate (PDF).


Sealed Sources Training
All users of sealed sources of radioactive materials must complete the "Read and Sign" training.(HTML)

Specialized Training
Specialized training for topics such as "Irradiator Use" and "Soil Moisture Density Guages" is available.

Radiation Safety Guidelines for Non-Users
These "Read and Sign" guidelines are for anyonewho works near, but not with, radioactive materials.  (PDF)
