Does your event need a permit from the UC Berkeley Fire Prevention Division?

  1. Will more than 50 people be attending this event?  (  ) Yes   (  ) No

  2. Will you be using a space on campus in a capacity other than its normal use?  (  ) Yes   (  ) No
      (i.e. using the basketball court of Haas Pavillion for a stage and chairs, or filming on a plaza)

  3. Will you be using tents with cumulative areas of greater than 200 sq.ft.?  (  ) Yes  (  ) No
     or canopies with cumulative areas of greater than 400 sq. ft?  (  ) Yes   (  ) No
     (Please note if you are using multiple tents, if they are closer than 10 feet from each other they will be considered as one.)

  4. Will there be any kind of open flame used (candles, torches, cooking devices, pyrotechnics)? (  ) Yes   (  ) No

  5. Will compressed gas cylinders be used for vendor booths, cooking devices or any other function? (  ) Yes   (  ) No

  6. Will the event be located in a roadway, pathway or plaza that used by emergency vehicles for access to areas
    on campus?  (  ) Yes   (  ) No

  7. Will the event include a barbecue or grill?  (  ) Yes   (  ) No
     (If you answer yes to this question you need a Barbecue Permit from the Fire Prevention Division)

  8. Will you be selling, preparing, or giving away food at this event?  (  ) Yes   (  ) No
     (If you answer yes to this question you need a Food Permit from the Office of Environment, Health and Safety)

  9. Will the event include alcoholic beverages?  (  ) Yes   (  ) No
     (If you answer yes to this question you need a permit from the UCPD)
