Description

The Office of Environment, Health & Safety maintains a campus-wide "Authorized Forklift Operator" program to comply with OSHA Title 8, section 3664 & 3669. EH&S conducts first-time training for campus employees and hands-on evaluations of previously trained operators, which is required every three years. Initial forklift training consists of two parts, a 2.5-hour classroom training and a hands-on training using the type of forklift that they will operate. The 3-year evaluation consists of demonstration of and proper operating skills by participants. To schedule either the first-time or 3-year evaluation, please contact Roy Waller at (510) 642-6885.
