Description:  In 2002 EH&S, the East Bay Municipal Utility District and the US EPA partnered on a three year project to reduce the use of mercury-containing devices and chemicals at UC Berkeley. Over 1,200 pounds of mercury was removed from campus, including 3,600 mercury thermometers. If you have mercury thermometers, unnecessary mercury-containing lab chemicals or other mercury sources in you laboratory, let us know so we can assist in their proper disposal and free replacement (thermometers only).
