Description

Designated Campus Fire Marshals (DCFM) in the Fire Prevention Division (FPD) have the authority to approve building plans and inspect construction on campus on behalf of the California State Fire Marshal. DCFM also grant final occupancy to buildings when they are substantially complete in accordance with approved plans. Operating as a recharge unit, campus fire marshals work closely with campus units and outside contractors to ensure that campus construction complies with state fire and building codes.

Regardless of cost or scope, all projects at UC Berkeley require consultation with the Campus Fire Marshal. This on-line project review process form assists you with determining project management responsibilities and the appropriate level of Fire Marshal involvement required for your project. Once submitted electronically, the information will be reviewed for further follow-up needed by EH&S.
